I didn't know what to expect when I first started my yoga therapy with Tanya but she is a delightful and professional therapist who uses an evidence based approach to tailor our practice sessions to meet my individual needs. She is an engaged and great communicator who explains what she is trying to achieve with me and why. Our sessions together have greatly improved my strength and balance and my overall physical and mental well being.

She also appreciated you recommending the alternate mats, which are very helpful She feels that her flexibility is improving & finds she is physically capable of more than what she thought she can actually do. She is always discovering new components of the practice that she believes she is becoming ‘good at’. / A sense of achievement is of value to her & she considers it as one of her hobbies. Originally concerned about her limitations, B says that she is ’giving in to the process’, because she fully trusts that she is being safely guided. C has been having weekly Yoga Therapy sessions for about four years now (including some breaks).
During this time C nervousness and anxiety levels have reduced significantly. His posture and gait have improved to where he has a self confidence in his own balance and step. He now looks ahead and takes in his surrounds where he would previously only look down at the ground when walking. C's core has gained strength and to where he is able to stand still in one place without slouching or having to lean on me for balance and stability. With the focus on Cs breathing and depth of breath C now engages with this activity and you can see his breathing become deeper, calmer more focussed and in tune withe the activity. There have been numerous times in the past 12 months where C has been so engaged and in tune with the breath-work he has sounded multiple long 10 to 20 second hums.
C sleeps more soundly. He expresses himself more confidently and noticeably, sometimes to the extent of showing he is disinterested in activities by almost ignoring the person or activity. There have been a few instances where C has verbally expressed himself with a grumpy or upset attitude. C visibly calms once you acknowledge his feelings and rectify the problem or situation.
